If you require specific guidance in relation to the practices please feel free to contact me to discuss. For general purposes, the main observations are noted here:
Kapalbhati should not be practiced if there are any of the following conditions present: any heart condition, any history of stroke or epilepsy, vertigo, bouts of dizziness high blood pressure – if this is being treated with medication then practice with the physical guidance of an experienced teacher, remote guidance is not ideal in such situations. If in doubt, leave this practice.
Some conditions of the lungs may benefit from this practice if it is done under the direct physically present supervision of an experienced teacher. What suits one person does not suit all. If in doubt, leave this practice.
Kechari Mudra can create a strong purifying effect where a bitter taste arises in the mouth. If this happens, discontinue the practice. It is an indication that other practices of hatha yoga are required to purify the system before re-commencing this practice. It can also be a strongly internalizing practice so be aware of how you respond and better to practice in the evenings, according to your lifestyle and routine.
